Green Honeycreeper Distribution
The Green honeycreeper can be found in southern
Mexico, Central America, Brazil, amd Bolivia.
|
| |
 |
Honeycreepers are generally small
birds not exceeding 8 inches, with pointed, sometimes curved bills
and bristle-edged tongues. |

|
 |
Although described
as green, the color of the male Green honeycreeper changes from
sea-green in bright sun to a bluish green in the shade and it is
very difficult to portray the true green color in a photograph.

 |
The Green honeycreeper punctures
the base of a petal in order to reach the nectar. In other words,
they are nectar robbers, performing no mutually beneficial function
for the flower. |
