What does check-in look like for my party?

Your guests will need to check in with the guest services specialist at the front gate upon arrival at the zoo on the day of your party. The guest services specialist will give your guests lanyards that designate them as birthday party attendees. They will need to wear these lanyards for the duration of your party and return them at the end. The guest services specialist will count your guests as they enter the zoo and direct them to the appropriate party location.

What if I have more than 20 guests? 

Your party includes the first 20 guests. Children 2 years old and under do not count towards your initial 20. Those guests are considered free to the zoo. Additional guests are $10.00 per person. The front gate will be counting your guests as they arrive to the zoo. This count will be used to determine any additional fees at the end of the party. This count does include members. Pueblo Zoo membership grants members free admission to the zoo, but does not grant members entrance to Private Events or rentals. Please note that our indoor party space can only accommodate a maximum of 35 people. We will not be able to accommodate parties any larger than that during winter season.​

Can our guests visit the zoo before or after the party?

Your party includes admission to the zoo all day. We recommend visiting the zoo before or after your party so you do not run over the time limit for your space. Please keep in mind, you are not able to hold or store items in the classroom/party pavilion at any time other than your party's reserved time slot. Zoo hours are listed on our Guest Info page of our website. Please let us know on the form when you are expecting to arrive so our guest services team can be prepared to greet you and check you in.
 

If I book an animal presentation or farm feeding, does that occur during my party time slot?

Yes, activities added onto your party (i.e. animal presentations, farm feedings, etc.) will occur during your party's allotted time slot. Please expect that approximately 30-40 minutes of your party's time slot will be allocated to each activity. If you are looking to book more than two activities, we recommend that you book the 4 hour birthday party time slot in order to have enough time to accommodate your selected activities.

What is the "Stuff A Plush"?

"Stuff A Plush" is a sustainable build your own plush experience. Your party host will be the one operating the machine for the party guests. Children can watch the stuffing process happen, but will not get to operate the machine. This activity will take about 30-40 minutes during your party's time slot. This activity is subject to plush availability and inventory.

Can we bring outside food and drinks? 

We do allow you to bring in outside food and drinks. We do not allow glass or alcohol on zoo premises. Please keep in mind that we do not have electricity access at the Party Place Pavilion. We also do not provide utensils for outside food, so please plan accordingly. If you bring outside drinks, we ask that you recycle them in the appropriate receptacle when finished (if applicable).

Does the zoo provide plates, napkins, cups, and utensils? 

The zoo will provide plates, napkins, cups, and utensils to match any food orders placed through the zoo. We will not provide these items if you are bringing your own food or drinks, so please plan accordingly.

Can we bring a grill? 

The zoo does not permit grills.

What happens in the event of inclement weather? 

The Zoo is open rain, snow or shine. Rescheduling is based on availability. If the zoo closes due to natural disasters, then a full refund will be given.
 

Can I bring my own decorations? 

You can either use the zoo’s decorations or bring your own. If you decide to bring your own, please remember you only have 20 minutes to set them up. Keep in mind the zoo does not allow balloons, piñatas, or confetti.​

How late can I make changes to add-on options?

You can make changes to your reservation add-ons (food options, additional activities, party favors, etc.) up to 36 hours before your party.
