BEHIND THE SCENES
EXPERIENCES
Get up close and personal with some of the rarest animals on the planet in our Behind The Scenes experiences. Ages 6+.
Prices include zoo admission and 10% of every Behind the Scenes ticket goes to conservation.
You will meet one our trained animal care staff and join them to meet one of our endangered species:
African Penguins
African Painted Dogs
American Bison
Red Pandas

Group Encounter
Join a small group encounter, get up close and personal with an endangered species, and enjoy a private keeper talk.

Temporary Closures
Indoor exhibits will be closed for now. This includes the Discovery Room, EcoCenter, World of Color,
and Islands of Life.
Things to Know
Some animals may be absent from their exhibit at any given time due to introductions of new species, medical care, newborns, animal choice, or maintenance.
The water in the moat is drained
at the end of September and refilled in mid-April. ​
Dress Code Policy
Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. Swimwear must be sufficiently covered. Offensive or provocative items on clothing or swimwear is prohibited. Costumes or disguises that conceal identity are not permitted. The Pueblo Zoo reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone who refuses to comply with the dress code summarized above. If guests have any questions, please stop by guest relations.

Library Program
Visit your local Pueblo City/County Library branch to "Check out the Zoo"! This program allows you to check out zoo passes (based on availability, check with library).

Passes do not contribute to the count for a Group Discount Rate.

Not valid for special events such as Electricritters.

A limit of five zoo passes may be checked out at once by one person.

Late fines: 50¢ per day. A charge of $28 assessed for lost or damaged passes.

If you're receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits), you can gain free or reduced admission to more than 500 museums throughout the United States, including the Pueblo Zoo, simply by presenting your EBT card.
